KiddoCapture wasn't dreamed up in an office by people who've never held a name list at 8am in a toddler room. It was built inside a working childcare photography company in Melbourne, Australia — one that photographs hundreds of early learning centres and tens of thousands of children every year.
We had the same problems you do. Rosters arriving as messy spreadsheets the night before. Photographers ticking paper lists that didn't match each other. The sinking feeling of a director calling about the one child who got missed. Group photo name lists scribbled on the back of a run sheet, deciphered weeks later by a retoucher on the other side of the world.
So we built the tool we wished existed — and ran our entire season on it. Every feature in KiddoCapture exists because a real photo day demanded it: the live checklists came from double-ups between photographers, the parent QR registration came from chasing spellings after the fact, the warnings system came from duplicate children sneaking into deliveries.
Only after it had survived a full season of real centres, real tablets and real centre wifi did we decide to offer it to other childcare photography companies.
